Tristan Frampton

Tristan Frampton is currently pursuing a PhD in Music Education, with emphases in choral conducting and voice, at the University of Missouri, where he has studied with Wendy Sims, Paul Crabb, and Ann Harrell, respectively. While at the University of Missouri Mr. Frampton has directed the Women’s Chorale and Chamber Singers, assisted with the University Singers and Choral Union, and was the assistant conductor for the Show-Me Opera Company’s performance of the second act of Puccini’s La Bohème and his Gianni Schicchi.  Prior to his arrival in Columbia, MO, Mr. Frampton taught high school choir at Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, AZ.  Mr. Frampton holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona, where he studied conducting with Bruce Chamberlain, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Truman State University, where he studied voice with Jacqueline Collett. 

Mr. Frampton has been involved with several performances of Händel’s Messiah, singing under the batons of George Hanson and Bruce Chamberlain, two performances under the direction of Paul Crabb, and a performance of the less performed Easter portion of Messiah with the Tucson Chamber Artists under the direction of Eric Holtan.  In addition to writing program notes for the performance of Messiah by the University of Missouri Choral Union, Mr. Frampton has studied the score extensively, and prepared some of the tenor solos from the oratorio.
