Dianna Long

Dianna  Long, BS, JD, has degrees in Sociology, Religious Studies and Law.  While in law school, Long studied for a semester at University College, London, England, where she clerked for Barrister Robin Griffiths of the Inner Temple Inn of Court.  She was admitted to federal practice in 1991.  Long has practiced bankruptcy law since 1995, taking two years out to serve as Taney County Attorney, and as Municipal Judge for two southwest Missouri cities.  Since 2002, the focus of her practice has been municipal bankruptcy and consumer bankruptcy, which she now practices exclusively in her own office, the Mid-Missouri Bankruptcy Center.

In April 2009, Long and co-founder Alex Innecco, opened Carpe Diem.  Since Innecco left in October 2010, Long has operated Carpe Diem as a not-for-profit corporation, establishing a Board of Directors, and applying for a 501(c)(3) determination form the IRS. 

During the 1980s and 1990s, as a member of Temple Israel in  Springfield, Missouri, Long spoke to many adult Sunday School classes and other  adult-education groups about basic Judaism.  Most recently she presented  a Carpe Diem course called “Mysteries of the Jewish Calendar: A Year-Long  Exploration of the Jewish Holidays."  Following that, she taught an eight-week Judaism course for the Osher Life-Long Learning Institute.  Long's other teaching experience include two televised Criminal Justice courses for Central Methodist University, and she has been a regular speaker for the Missouri Bar Association's continuing legal education courses "Bankruptcy Basics" and "Interviewing the Potential Bankruptcy Client."
